Natural ways of feeling better

I finally caught the bug that has been going around for the past few months. I had to take my first ever "sick day" from work and thankfully, I had a weekend with no plans to recover. I wanted to share some of the lovely "all-natural" things that are helping me get well. (Although as I write this, I'm still not 100% better.) I feel like I've been a snot manufacturer for the past four days. (Disgusting, but true.) I don't think I have ever had this much drainage during one sickness in my life. Antibiotics and a cough/decongestant/antihistamine syrup are what the doctor ordered. The cherry cough medicine does taste like I'm 7 years old again and I kinda like it. I am not a fan of taking antibiotics, but I am taking every single pill because this sickness NEEDS TA GO. Here are the healthier options I've also incorporated.

doTERRA On Guard softgels - "The oils in this blend (On Guard) have been studied for their strong abilities to kill harmful bacteria, mold and viruses." I would take two or four of these per day just to boost the immune system. I like the beadlets too, to pop in my mouth and get a burst of On Guard. Mixing a drop or two of the oil in a shot of water is a good way to take it too. Woo hoo, shots of On Guard, turn up.

do TERRA melaleuca - Both of my ears were aching, so I used the melaleuca oil on the topically on my ears. Just to name a few properties of this oil: antibacterial, anti fungal, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and SO MANY MORE.

doTERRA Deep Blue Rub - I have a few knots in my neck, so i've been relying on this to relieve the pain in those muscles. Deep Blue is a blend of oils that are known for "their abilities to sooth inflammation, alleviate pain, and reduce soreness." I put this on my swollen throat too. Ahh, soothe.

doTERRA Breathe & On Guard cough drops - These cough drops aren't filled with the nasty syrups and don't leave a bad taste in your mouth. You're also getting some essential oils in your system while you suck on these. They help soothe a dry, scratchy throat.

doTERRA Past Tense roll-on - KEY to curing a headache. Mine tend to be back of the head - headaches, probably from my neck being out of whack. So I roll this around on the very tip-top of my neck.

Probiotics - SO. IMPORTANT. FOR IMMUNE HEALTH. Your immune system lives in your gut, probiotics are crucial for good gut health. I've been getting mine in a few ways.

Olly Purely Probiotic - If i'm going to be honest, this probably shouldn't be your lone source of probiotics BUT gummy vitamins are always delicious, so I take these along with some other forms of probiotics as followed.

Kombucha - A great way to drink probiotics, you'll either love or hate this drink. "GT's Mystic Mango" is my favorite. There is even some mango puree in it.

Siggi's Yogurt - My fav. yogurt, it's so think and kind of tastes like cream cheese to me. I know that's weird, but I like it and it isn't full of sugar.

I also have a Nature's Way probiotic that has 30 billion

Apple Cider Vinegar- Day four here, I decided to look in my Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar book to see what helps with a sore throat. 1tsp. of Bragg apple cider vinegar + half cup of water = gargle it

Emergen-C, pink lemonade flavor on deck. Not really, I have ONE packet left. How is that even possible in that huge box?

I can't forget to add baths, drinking lots of water, hot tea and a heated blanket, all to help me feel a bit better. Oh and I had to bake a batch of peanut butter, chocolate chip cookies because being sick is bad enough, ya have to treat yoself a little bit.

XXO, STAY WELL!!!
