Secrets to making the BEST homemade mojito

While vacationing in the Florida Keys, we made the most delicious mojitos to sip on as we soaked up the sun. Ah, it's always hard to get back in the swing of things after you've got Keys in your blood. Anyways. There are a few secrets to making the BEST homemade mojitos and I thought I must share! The FIRST secret is finding the right mojito mix. Many of them don’t even taste like a mojito, but more like knock off Gatorade. The absolute best mojito mix is Rose’s Traditional Mojito mix. Many liquor stores and grocery stores are starting to carry this. The second secret, which makes the drink a bit lighter, is to add lime flavored LaCroix Sparkling Water! Finally, the third secret and probably the most important is to use Bacardi LIMON rum!! (NOT regular rum.) There you have it; get out your muddler and make a cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh mint

  • Fresh lime

  • 2 oz. of Bacardí límon

  • 3 oz. Rose’s Mojito mix

  • 4 oz. LaCroix Sparkling Water, lime flavor

How to mix it:

Before you add ice to your cup, muddle about 6 mint leaves AND about ¼ of a lime (as long as it’s pretty big and really juicy) in your cup. Then add ice and all the liquids, stir and SIP! So simple.

Cheers!
