RECIPE: the best spicy turkey chili

Y’ALL! This chili is the best that I’ve ever made! It’s also the BEST I think I’ve ever had! Props to Jacob and I for making up this recipe as we were tootling around the store, planning to make something else... but instead, we came up with this absolutely scrumptious chili recipe. Perfect for a chilly day. (Haha, get it?) It’s also perfect for a Super Bowl party or any get together. If you want to serve this at a party just put it in your crockpot on warm after you make it. Here's what you'll need:

1 lbs. ground turkey meat

1 fresh jalapeno (optional; if you want to cut out the kick, leave out the peno)

½ green bell pepper

1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies

1 can tomato sauce

1 can chipotle peppers in adobe sauce

1 can kidney beans

1 can pinto beans

1 package McCormick Chili Seasoning Mild

¼ red onion

¼ white onion

  1. Dice the onions, green bell pepper, and fresh jalapeno

  2. Cook the turkey meat with the chopped white onion

  3. Partially drain the kidney beans and pinto beans

  4. In a pot, combine the beans, tomato sauce, red onion, green bell pepper, fresh jalapeno (seeds, too), tomatoes with green chilies, and McCormick's seasoning

  5. Heat the pot on low-medium

  6. Slice the chipotle peppers from the can and then add them to the pot, along with the adobe sauce

  7. Drain the grease from the turkey meat

  8. Add the turkey meat to the pot

  9. Let simmer on low for one hour; stir occasionally

You can top your chili with any or all of the following: Fritos, cheese, sour cream, onion, green onion

I always eat my chili with a piece of peanut butter toast! If you haven't, TRY IT! & ENJOY!!!
